USA: Dixie Brewery could reopen late 2007
The owners of New Orleans Dixie Brewery say they will reopen the factory by October 2007, in time for the beer companys 100-year anniversary, The Advocate posted June 05.
Joe and Kendra Bruno told National Public Radio that the brewery will need several million dollars worth of work before then because the factory flooded and then looters attacked, stealing pipes and equipment.
The Brunos say they will have to lay off half the brewerys workers and modernize the facility in order to survive. Meanwhile, the Brunos are trying to work out deals with regional brewers in other parts of the country to produce Dixie.
